Sunny weather

It's been a long time coming, but at last we've been able to get out for dog walks and not all come back wet, cold and grumpy! Sunny weather makes everything nicer.

I'm off to PATS next week, a pet trade fair, hopefully to come back with lots of new and exciting products to have on the website. We're sorry it's so slow at the moment, it is something we're working very hard on.

Our new sale page (which currently only has dog products on it) is now up and running - there's some YAP beds, grooming products and treats on there at the moment. Herman really likes the Antos hedgehogs which are on there - and they help keep his teeth nice and shiny and clean! It was his birthday last week, we got him some plush toys which were reduced to rags after a day. Now I've stopped hoovering my office twice a day I'm less cross, especially as he still carries the raggy bits round with him. Just wish it wouldn't make so much mess!

That's pretty much it from us this week - hopefully after PATS I can update you with the cool new stuff we'll be stocking!

Horrid Weather!

How is everyone getting on in this horrible weather? Roll on spring and summer I say! Can't wait to be able to see the horse in daylight and hopefully without several inches of mud on her and be able to take the dog for a long offlead walk after work.

I know I've mentioned them before, but the Equafleece jumpers (here: http://petandanimalfeeds.co.uk/index.php?page=shop.browse&category_id=66&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=201&vmcchk=1&Itemid=201 ) are fantastic in this weather, keeping the dogs cosy and dry or as an underlayer if your dog gets cold really easily. We have the Ezy Element coats as well ( http://petandanimalfeeds.co.uk/index.php?page=shop.browse&category_id=70&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=201 ) which are lightweight and have a really useful chest & tummy cover which is great if your dogs are like mine and get incredibly filthy underneath!

A big hit with cats and dogs this week has been the laser pen ( http://www.petandanimalfeeds.co.uk/index.php?page=shop.product_details&category_id=33&flypage=flypage.tpl&product_id=1209&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=201 ) every animal with tried it with has loved it.

The wild bird section is picking up steam now - the artwork is in our hands and we're now waiting for the people who are bagging it for us to send it out so soon that will be launched. Hopefully going to add a chicken section as well.

Finally, look out for Herman in Your Dog magazine and Elmo in Your Cat - we've put adverts featuring them both in to come out in the next issue. Herman is very excited to be so famous and has been practicing doing his high 5's!

We now have the Everlasting Treat balls and treat refills in stock - I think they're being slightly ambitious calling it the 'Everlasting Treat' as it took Herman (Weimy) an hour to demolish it, although to be fair it was a SOLID hour of chewing, pouncing, biting, licking. He loved it and is still playing with the ball. I have been putting dog biscuits in the 'dispenser' side, but even when it's empty that is the toy he picks out of his 'toybox'. Apparently if you put the treat in upside down it lasts longer - I'll try that this week.

Still waiting on the Elk leather & nylon collars. They were sent from Germany last Tuesday, so expect it was the bad weather we had holding them up, but I want to see them now!

We now have limited stocks of Nutro on the site as well - the 15kg Chicken & Rice (sensitive) adult and 7.5kg bags of Lamb & Rice adult. This food is now discontinued, so these bags are good for swapping your dogs over onto their new diet.

Along with the Everlasting Treat balls and refills, we got some Yeowww! catnip sardines. They come in a sardine can and are super-potent. A popular cat bed at the moment is the radiator beds from Danish Design. I have one for my cats and they are usually to be found squeezed into it apart from the memorable afternoon and came back in the house to find Herman trying to fit in it. He was only 16 weeks old at the time - at 9months and 32kg now (long haired Weims are much bigger than the short hair) I don't think he'd fit so easily!

Happy New Year to all of our customers and friends!

We're really excited about new stock we have coming in this year, such as Ever Lasting Treat Balls, new designs of collars (including some gorgeous Elk Leather rolled collars) and Dogmatic headcollars - perfect if you have a dog that pulls.

We also have more Hotter Dog jumpers coming in which are great for this cold weather - they will keep your dog dry and warm at all times - my friend has one for her dog who rolled in all the snow numerous times but was still toasty warm and dry underneath. The same couldn't be said for us who were freezing (and wet, having fallen in the snow!) unfortunately!

Can't wait for summer!
